The Massachusetts State Police (MSP) have indicated that evidence strongly suggests she was the victim of a homicide.

Initially, Mbitu's sudden disappearance had raised concerns, prompting her family to contact the authorities on Monday. However, investigations have uncovered that the suspected perpetrator of this abhorrent act managed to escape the country, boarding a flight bound for Kenya.

Margaret Mbitu was a devoted and empathetic nurse who dedicated her services to BAMSI, a non-profit organization assisting individuals struggling with mental and behavioral health challenges. Renowned for her commendable service spanning over seven years, Mbitu worked as a per diem nurse in various homes within the organization. The prime suspect in Margaret Mbitu's murder has been identified as Kevin Kangethe, reportedly her partner. The distressing discovery of Mbitu's body revealed that she had been fatally stabbed.
